Funeral services for George W. “Woody” Waters 71 of Talladega will be Friday January 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm Usrey Chapel, with Brother Jimmy Nelson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday January 13, 2022, 5:30 – 8:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home. Mr. Waters passed away Tuesday January 11, 2022 at Clay County Hospital In Ashland , Al.
Mr. Waters is survived by a son Stevie (Teri) Waters, Munford Al. ,two sisters: Dianna Gregg, Millerville Al, Carolyn (Bill) Conner Cropwell Al, one brother Jimmy (Kay) Waters Palm Coast Fla, four grandchildren: Peyton (Jacob) Rooks, Honey Waters(Dale Johnson),Christopher Smith, and Johnathan Smith .two great grandchildren: Izzy Waters, and Rhett Rooks. Numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend Dean Chatham.
Mr. Waters is preceded in death by a son David DeWayne Waters, wife Elaine Casey Waters, parents: James C. and Lucille Waters Sr., sisters: Nancy E. Waters, Beverly Jane Feazell and brother Randy Kent Waters.
Mr. Waters was a native of Tallapoosa Co. Al a resident of Talladega and Clay Co. for 63 years. Retired from Georgia Pacific and was currently employed by Madix in Goodwater, of the Baptist Faith, served in the National Guard for 17 years where he served a tour in Turkey and Ecuador, He had a love of vintage and fast cars, loved life and lived it to the fullest.
