Obituary of Linda Jo Graham

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Linda Jo Ray Graham, 77, of Pell City, Alabama, passed away on December 15, 2021. She was born to the late Raymond and Margaret Ray, June 23, 1944. She was a devoted wife to Chester Graham for almost 50 years. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Lynn Graham. Mrs. Graham is survived by sons, Allen (Amy) Graham and Wade (Shelley) Graham, and Derek Stephens, six grandchildren, Jacob (Amber) Graham, Jaclyn (Chris) Connell, Kalei Graham, MaryGrace (Grant) Smith, Gus and Gabby Joy Graham. 6 great-grandchildren: Alysa Layton, Kason, Reesey and Tillery Graham, Chester and James Ray Graham. Sister is law Earlene (late Edison) Graham, Niece: Michelle (Clark) Layton, great nieces and nephews: Alison and Austin Stephens, Scooter, Tyler Layton and Jessica Brady. Mrs. Graham was affectionately called Nannie and nothing made her more proud than her sons and family. Nannie was well known for her great cooking, her talent for sewing and her gift for gab. She had a way about her that made it easy to talk to her for hours. She was sharp as a tack and could remember dates and details like an encyclopedia. She was an entrepreneur at heart, starting up many side businesses along with taking care of the family businesses paperwork for over 45 years. But the job she was most skilled at was taking care of her family. She adored her late husband, spoiling him with three home cooked meals a day, every single day. She tirelessly cared for him while he battled many years with colon cancer. She also spoiled her boys with warm home cooked lunches every work day. She did whatever it took to keep them happy and fed. Even when it meant making special accommodations cooking different things for the picky one. Every evening she made her calls to her sons, checking in and making sure all was well, rehashing the day and saying goodnight. She was a good mother. Nannie had a strong mind and a strong will and those things helped her fight lung cancer for the past 12 months. But God saw she was growing weary and knew she had fought hard and it was time for her to come home. Nannie will be so missed and forever loved. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, with Rev. Vint Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at St. Clair Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home. Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Condolences may be offered online at www.usreyfuneralhome.com. Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, is in charge of arrangements.
