Obituary of Rose Mary Tinta Barnwell

Mrs. Rose Mary Tinta Barnwell, 67, of Pell City, Alabama passed away on November 10, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Frances Tinta. Rose Mary was known to be a kind-hearted, selfless, and bright individual. She always put others ahead of herself and it showed, especially in her career as a Mental Health Counselor specializing in child care. She excelled in her college curriculum, finishing among the top of her classes. She was known within the St. Clair community for helping many children throughout the county in need of behavioral and moral support, quality of life, and many other areas of expertise. She and her pharmacist husband, John Barnwell, were also known as baseball parents. Many of their nights and weekends were spent at the ball fields supporting their three sons and many other children, as they would endure baseball practices, games and tournaments. She will be missed dearly by her family and the community. She is survived by her husband, John Kennedy Barnwell; sons, Drew Barnwell (Lacey), Marcus Barnwell, and Benjamin Barnwell(Silvia); brother, John Tinta; grandchildren, Kylie, Jude, Liam, Loxley, Abram, Ruby and Lily; one niece and several nephews. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, with Father Bill Lucas officiating. Interment will follow at St. Clair Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
