Obituary of John Hulan Garrett

Mr. John Hulan Garrett, 75, of Cropwell, Alabama passed away on October 16, 2021 in Anniston. Mr. Garrett was a member of Macedonia North Baptist Church. He was a retired Quality Assurance Specialist with 28 years of service at the Anniston Army Depot, where he won numerous performance awards including a design for an M-85 machine gun. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Dye, Betty Lou Garrett & Barbara Morgan; and his brother, Jimmy Lee Garrett. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Garrett; sons, Jonathan Garrett (Sheila) & Joseph Garrett (Laura); 14 grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Williams, Wanda Scott & Gail Brooks; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Jaren Kirkland (Sandy). The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, with Rev. Billy Burtram, Rev. Larry Morgan and Rev. Bruce Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia North Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
