Obituary of Rev. Frank Thomas Machen
Please share a memory of Rev. Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Monday, September 27, 2021, Frank T. Machen, 73, wonderful loving husband, father of four, grandfather of 11, great grandfather of 6, great man of faith and minister of the gospel for 54 years went to be with the Lord peacefully while surrounded by his family.
Frank was born on January 15, 1948 to Ethelyn and Stansell Machen. After graduating from Hueytown High School in 1966, he married his high school sweetheart, Pat Fuller, and was married to her for 55 years. He attended Jacksonville State University for four years and then attended and graduated from Antioch Baptist Bible College in Marietta, GA.
In 1980, at the clear instruction of the Lord, Frank founded Producing Faith Ministry, a non-denominational church which welcomed all people of all races to come and be taught the Word of God and how to live by faith. He actively pastored and taught there for 31 years.
During this time, Frank earned his pilot’s licenses and believed God for aircraft that would enable him to take the Word of Faith to other countries. In his own plane, he was able to travel to and minister in Cuba, Mexico, Honduras, Providenciales, and Haiti many times. Overseas, he was privileged to minister in Ukraine, France, and Bulgaria. His family and preaching the Word was his passion. He had a 15 minute radio broadcast on WDJC for several years. For the past 7 years, instructed by the Lord, he produced a short daily video called Faith Nuggets that was available around the world. Frank was very generous to his family, congregation, and ministries abroad. His hobbies, besides flying, were bass fishing and riding motorcycles.
Frank is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pat Machen, 4 children Mark (Jennifer), Shawn (Andrea), Matthew (Stephanie), Joy (Abraham); 11 grandchildren Caleb (Jessica), Olivia (Justin), Nathanael, Brooke (Daniel), Seth (Chelsea), Rebekah (Nathan), Zoe (Dawson), Isabellah, Mattie, Alexander, Valentine; and 6 great grandchildren Troy, Jane, Josie, Harper, Margot, and Ebbaleana. He is also survived by his sister Bunny (William).
