Joyce was born on New Year's Day in 1936 to Lawson and Mae Hopper. She was raised in the Friendship Community in St. Clair County. She attended school in Odenville and was an honor student at St. Clair County High School. She was a devoted mother to her only child, Randy Stone. Joyce worked as a welder at United Chair, car auction clerk at ADESA, a dealer transfer driver for Miller-Sutherlin Chevrolet and as a relief Postmaster at the Wattsville Post Office until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawson and Mae Hopper; and husbands, Walter Stone and Jim Barber.
Survivors: Son & Daughter-in-Law: Randy & Melanie Stone, Grandchildren: Jordan & Anna Teal, Brother & Sister-in-Law: Herman & Doris Hopper, Several cousins, nieces, nephews, & a plethora of friends
