I worked with Jimmy at the old A&P store way back about 1960. Jimmy was in produce and I was a lowly bag boy. Jimmy and I became great friends during our time together and it saddens me to learn of his passing. To his family I will tell you that Jimmy was a true friend to me. The world needs many more as good as Jimmy.

So sorry to hear of "Jimmy's" passing. Saw him at class reunion either 2013 or 2012 I am pretty sure. I considered him a good friend and was his classmate for 4 years at Valley Head High School. My condolences to his wife (Wanda) and his two sisters Marcella & Tina. May God bless and keep you and yours safe always.

I was so sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. My prayers are with you all. As a little girl, on my summer Mentone visits, I remember running the path, often, between the homes of Grandmama & Granddaddy Shigley and Uncle Leonard and Aunt Mae. It was fun getting an expanded view of the world through the lives of the older Shigley cousins. Jimmy was always so kind and sweet to me. As an older adult, he was an incredibly good-hearted, tender-spirited man. One of those who had no trouble letting you know you were loved. A thoughtful man to many! I know his love and life will be sorely missed. And I know how dearly he was welcomed Home! God bless you all! Love, Darlene

I am so sorry for your loss of Jimmy, and rejoice for him being free of pain and illness while joining his parents and our grandparents in Heaven. When I think of Jimmy, I always think of the older cousin and role model to whom I looked up so much. I think of the teenage athlete, the newlywed and the young father. Though many years have passed since those days, he will always hold a special place in my regard, mind, memory and heart.
