Obituary of Robert Lee Gaither, Sr.

Munford, AL. – Robert Lee Gaither, 79, passed away August 31, 2021. His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 3, at Stockdale Baptist Church in Munford with Kevin Jones officiating. The family will have a visitation, also at Stockdale Baptist, for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Gaither was a native and lifelong resident of the Stockdale community and a member of Stockdale Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and spent time outside just walking. He was known as “Bulldog” in his younger years but did not like being called Elvis. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and daughter-in-law and according to his family “had the prettiest smile”. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; his children, Scotty Gaither (Earlene) and Nancy Stratton (Todd); his grandchildren, Zach Stratton, Robbyn Munroe (Zach), Marlee Stratton (Tyler Franklin), Devin Gaither and Holly Gaither; brothers, Tom Gaither (Sherlyn) and Randy Gaither; sisters, Ruby Ward, Debra Pitts (Larry) and Velma Waites. Preceding him in death were his son, Robert Lee Gaither, Jr.; his parent’s, John and Nonnie Gaither; brothers, Edward, Harvey, Horace, James, and Phillip Gaither; and his sister, Sue Lesley. Serving as pallbearers will be Jarrett Wade, Alan Gaither, Jimmy Waites, Jeff Hendon, Lynn Gaither, and Reggie Gaither. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Stratton, Tom Gaither, and Randy Gaither.
