Obituary of John Housh

Talladega – John Wayne Housh, 80, passed away August 12, 2021. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 21, at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Michael Gatch officiating. The family will receive friends and extended family for one hour prior to the service, also at Usrey. John was born August 10, 1941, in Fayette, AL. He was a member of Concord Methodist Church and was a born-again Christian since 1976. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the IBEW 136 since 1970. Mr. Housh was employed by G & R Minerals for over 15 years in Birmingham, AL. He has been happily married to Elaine Wesson Housh since 1973. They have four sons, Donald Ross Housh of Talladega, Eric Lane Housh (Melanie) of Cropwell, John Wesson Housh (Jonné) of Phoenix, AZ., David Wayne Housh (Shirley) of Phoenix, AZ., and one daughter, Teresa Renee Neumann (Jon) of Scottsdale, AZ.; Twelve grandchildren: Gus, Zibby, Jaidin, Jillian, and Jaila Housh, Molly Harris (Andrew), Mariah Maynard (Nick Denton), Bobbie Nunn (Brett), David Lee Haley (Cindy), Emily Hoy, Jordan and Tanner Neumann; and six great grandchildren: David Harris, Jaxon Maynard, Cameron, Cadence, and Dakota Nunn, Caitlyn Chevallier. He is preceded in death by his parents John Tolbert Housh and Villa Hubbert Housh.He is also survived by his brother, Bill Housh, and a host of nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Shannon Newman, Andy Wesson, Alan Wesson, Gus Housh, Drew Wesson, and Alonzo Leonard. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Concord Methodist Church.
