Please share a memory of Marian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marian Elizabeth Nash Yoe (100 years of age) of Talladega, Alabama, was born January 25, 1921 in Rayle, Georgia, and passed away peacefully in her sleep, August 9, 2021, at her youngest son and daughter in law’s home in Opelika, Alabama. Marian was a remarkable and well-known artist throughout the state of Alabama, truly, throughout the southeastern region. She touched many lives through her gift of painting. It gave her great joy to know that her paintings were displayed in the homes of her family, her friends, strangers that soon became friends, businesses, and even museums. Art came naturally to her because it was something that she was passionate about. Marian treasured her many friendships throughout her life and along her great journey through the vessel of her paintings. Her greatest joys and biggest blessings were her children (4), grandchildren (10), and great-grandchildren (20). Her joy started with them and it flowed smoothly throughout her soul just as paint glided along the many canvases she so eloquently touched with her paintbrushes. Marian’s inspirations, her loves, her greatest masterpieces, were all of her children. Her art was a reflection of her deep relationships with each of them. Marian enjoyed being involved in her community through various clubs: Argus Study Club, Holly Garden Club, Andrew Jackson DAR, Junior Welfare League, Landmarks Foundation, Arts Council, Heritage Hall Museum, and Alabama Optometric Auxiliary. Her love of fellowship overflowed abundantly in her church, First Baptist Church, Talladega. Marian grew in her faith year after year. She shared the love of Jesus to her family and friends and how He always helped her through troublesome times, while praising him through the good times. Marian is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Alphus Omega Yoe, Jr., her daughter, Sandra Yoe White, her granddaughter, Sandy Mann Brown, her son-in-law, George P. Mann, her father, Jacob Daniel Nash, her mother, Lucretia Armour Nash, her sister, Carolyn Nash Shaw, and her brother, Charles Nash. She is survived by her daughter, Lucretia Yoe Mann of Opelika, AL., her son-in law, Charles White of Rome, Ga., her son Daniel M. Yoe of Birmingham, Al., and her son, Alan J. Yoe (Amber) of Opelika, AL. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Rick Brown, Jacob & Patton of Opelika, Al., Luanne Mann of Fresno, CA., George E. Mann, Rosemary, Thompson, & Sarah Cosby of Auburn, Al., Charlie White (Karen), Chase, Sam, & Ava of Dalton, Ga., Andrew White, Caroline, Drew, & Mari-Helen of Charleston, N.C., Geoffrey White, Morgan, Davis, & Avery of Rome, Ga., Ginny Yoe Livings (Mark) Kaitlyn & Hinton of Birmingham, AL., MaryBeth Yoe Barnes (Jeff) Curt, LilyCate of Rainbow City, AL., Daniel Yoe of Birmingham, AL., and Natalie Yoe Carter (Michael) Zachary & Nolan of Opelika, AL.
