Obituary of Wanda Faye Burke

Please share a memory of Wanda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sorrow that the family of Wanda Faye Burke, 70, of Pell City, Alabama announces her passing on July 25, 2021 at St. Vincent's St. Clair in Pell City, Alabama. She suffered many years of illness but was always a champion fighter. Wanda was a graduate of Pell City High School. After graduation, she entered into a long career as a clerk with the St. Clair County Hospital, now known as St. Vincent's St. Clair in Pell City, Alabama. She loved her family and devoted much of her time and energy over the years as a caregiver to family members, including two grandmothers and a grandfather. Although she had no children of her own, her life was made complete by the unconditional love between her and her many nieces and nephews. She was a diehard fan of NASCAR and Auburn University Football (War Eagle!). Wanda had a kind heart and a sweet spirit and would do anything for anyone. It is with great joy that we, as her family, know that she is now happy, pain free and in her Heavenly home celebrating with her mother, brother and grandparents and most importantly her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Ray Burke and Betty Ann Hannah; and her brother, William Lee "Stoney" Burke. She is survived by her sisters, Teresa Burns and Tonia Black (Phillip); nephews, Jayson Burns (Martha), Dustin Black (Nichole), Brett Black (Brandi), Hunter Burke (Britney): nieces, Melea Price (Jeremy) and Mary Beth Burke; great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaitlyn Mackey (Brandon), Ryan Maske, Drake Black, Jade Black, Logan Black, Landon Black, Ethan Price, Kullen Burke, and River Burke; great-great nephew and great-great niece, Valor Mackey and Victory Mackey. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City with Rev. Wayne Arnold officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 until 6:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Pell City Educational Foundation. Condolences may be offered online at www.usreyfuneralhome.com. Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, is in charge of arrangements.
