Talladega – Barbara McDonald Hurst, 68, passed away July 19, 2021. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 22 at Usrey Funeral Home with Dr. Catherine Bryan Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park. A visitation for friends and extended family will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service also at Usrey.
Barbara was born in Dothan, AL., and a lifelong resident of Talladega. She will be remembered by her smiling face, sweet laughter, her lovingness, and her kindness. She was a 1970 graduate of Talladega High School that will be missed by the many who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her mother, Lillian Bryan McDonald of Talladega; her sister’s, Nancy Rue of Birmingham, and Becky Wood (Jeff) of Talladega; her brother, David McDonald (Lisa) of Talladega and her grandchildren, Dylan Hurst, Payton Hurst, and Mack Hurst.
Preceding her in death were her son and daughter-in-law, Chris, and Heather McCloud Hurst; her father, Gwyn McDonald, and Lawrence “Pee Wee” Orr.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Hurst, Payton Hurst, Willis Whatley, Mike Brewer, Josh McDonald, and Will Pierce.
