Autrey F. Waites Jr. passed away peacefully at home at the age of 79 on July 15, 2021. He was a loving father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents Autrey Waites Sr. and Virgie Waites, sister Patsy Sherman and granddaughter Meagan Waites. He is survived by sons Jimmy (Cindy) Waites, Chris Waites (Melinda Grant), Michael (Amy) Waites, grandchildren Loren and Hunter Waites and the mother of his children Velma G. Waites.
He was a lifelong resident of Talladega. Mr. Waites retired from Kimberly-Clark and was involved in Talladega Recreation Sports. He was known as "COACH" Waites, he loved gardening, golf, telling jokes, online racing and spending time with family and friends.
