Cora Mae Carden Calhoun, age 88 passed away July 8, 2021 in Hanceville, AL. Her funeral service will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Ohatchee, AL. Burial will follow at Green Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm before the service.
Mrs. Calhoun was born April 29, 1933 in Calhoun County. She is survived by her children, Jimmy Calhoun (Sherrie) of Ohatchee, Teresa Calhoun Martin (David) of Somerville, AL, James “Freddie” Calhoun (Christie) of Lincoln; brothers, Louie “Red” Carden, Buster Carden; sisters, Mamie Owens, Faye Wingo; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Alfred Calhoun; parents, W.C. and Vada O’Brien Carden; son, Roger Dale Calhoun; brothers, Aubie Carden, Lewis Carden; sister, Inez Carden and special friend Leonard Dyer.
Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega is directing services.
