Please share a memory of Bernadette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Bernadette T. Teixeira, 72, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2021 in Ragland, AL. Bernadette, affectionately known as “Bernie,” was born November 11, 1948 in Caribou, ME to Adelard and Lottie Thibodeau. She leaves her loving husband of 54 years, Ken; two children, Kenny (and his wife, Anna) of Birmingham and Scott (and his wife, Amanda) of Atlanta; three grandchildren Darren Teixeira, and Alex and Austin Teixeira; two siblings, Joseph Thibodeau of East Hartford, CT; Mary Lavoie of South Windsor, CT; and nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings MaryAnn, Ronald, Thomas, and Douglas Thibodeau. Bernie and Ken traveled the world together, having many adventures and making new friends that became family along the way. She had a special knack with animals; her many parakeets and cats that she owned over the years adored her. What made Bernie most happy was being surrounded by her family and friends. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 11:00 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Lucas officiating. Internment will follow at Hardin’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be offered online at www.usreyfuneralhome.com. Usrey Funeral Home of Pell City, Alabama is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent’s Foundation, www.stvhs.com/philanthropy.
