Mr. John Mack Harris, 87, of Ashville, Alabama passed away on June 27, 2021 in Pell City. Mr. Harris was Senior Deacon and a lifelong member of Greensport Baptist Church. He loved woodworking, Alabama sports, gardening, and spending time with family, friends and his church family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Sanders Harris; parents, Dwight and Lucille Harris; sister, Geraldine Harris Sanders; and brothers, Wallace Harris, A.J. Harris, Dwight "Buck" Harris, Jr. and Wayne Harris. He is survived by his daughters, Paula Ward (Mark) and Patsy Taylor (Allan); son, Gary Harris (Cheryl); sister, Mary Lucille Beck; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Gail Campbell. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, with Dr. Michael Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Greensport Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Mike Saxon, Aiden Harris, Josh Campbell, Matt Smith, Patrick Clay, James Henry Cates, Hayden Lindsey and Gavin Lindsey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Audrey Saxon, Mackinlee Harris, Chandler Saxon, John Wyatt Ward, Rickey Clay and the Greensport Baptist Church Deacons. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Greensport Baptist Church Building Fund, Attn: Treasurer, 8915 Shoal Creek Rd., Ashville, AL 35953. Condolences may be offered online at www.usreyfuneralhome.com. Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, is in charge of arrangements.
