Obituary of Leon Rickey McKelvey

Mr. Leon Rickey McKelvey, 68, of Pell City, Alabama passed away on June 13, 2021 in Ragland.
Mr. McKelvey was born in Houston, Texas. He entered the Army after high school and served for three years during the Vietnam Era. He was employed by National Cement for 43 years. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and a Notary Public. He had his pilot's license and enjoyed flying. He loved animals and was always found with treats in his truck. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dora and Leon McKelvey; brothers, William Terry and Jimmy Terry; and a sister, Joyce Monselle.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Villo Ann McKelvey; son, Jared (Paige) McKelvey; granddaughter, Kate McKelvey, sisters, Norma Farr and JoAnn Browning; stepsons, Jerry Wayne (Amanda) Rich and Keith (Chelle) Rich; stepdaughters, Darlene (Rodney) Alverson, Wendy Smiley and Rhonda (Jeff) Noble; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, with Bro. Wayne Arnold officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pell City Humane Society.
