Obituary of Kathryn Ann Patterson

Talladega – A funeral service for Mrs. Kathryn Ann Patterson will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Usrey Funeral Home with Bro. Jacky Morgan and Bro. Bo Hamilton officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 9 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., also at Usrey. Ann was born June 17, 1932, and went to her heavenly home on June 8, 2021. She was greatly loved by all who knew her. Ann was always willing to go above and beyond for her family and friends. Her family was always her pride and joy, and her house was always the “hub” for family gatherings. Ann loved to cook and was always making cakes for her friends at Piggly Wiggly and Talladega Superspeedway where she worked for many years. Christmas was always a wonderful time at her house, as she loved to cook Christmas Eve dinner and make all sorts of cookies and candies. Ann loved animals, but she especially loved cats. She had many pet cats over the years and an abundance of stray cats seemed to find their way to her house and into her care as well. Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Eula Phillips; father, J. W. Phillips; husband, John Patterson; daughter, Robin Patterson Haire; and her eleven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Clark Patterson; daughter-in-law, Amy; and granddaughters, Holli and Beth; along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank New Beacon Hospice, Coosa Valley Medical Center, and Sylacauga Health and Rehab. Pallbearers will be Scott Phillips, Michael Wallace, David Roberts, Steve Oliver, Ronald Hughes and Russ Parton. The family friends will gather at Central Baptist Church Family Life Center following the graveside service.
