Obituary of Ronnie Battles

Mr. Ronnie Battles, 67, of Trussville, Alabama passed away on May 3, 2021 in Virginia. Seaman, Ronnie Battles, proudly served in the United States Navy Construction Battalion (Seabees) from 1981-1990. Ronnie is a veteran of the Gulf War (Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield) and is a recipient of the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Navy "E" Ribbon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Denton and Elizabeth Battles; wife, Emma Catherine Battles; and daughters, Sheila Ingram and Kimberly Griffin. He is survived by his daughters, Gina Ingram and Sherry A. Ingram; grandchildren, Seth Sanders, Morgan Griffin, Darrion Evans and Colin Shane Carkhuff; and great-grandchildren, Somer Sanders, Preslie Sanders, Preston Sanders, Jacob Ingram and Champion Pouncy. The funeral service for Mr. Battles was held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Usrey Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Kendrick officiating. Interment followed at Hardin's Chapel Cemetery.
