Roy D. Blankenship, 77 of Munford passed away April 23,2021. Graveside services will be held 1:00pm Monday April 26, 2021 at Munford Memorial Cemetery. Steve Lathem will officiate the service. Roy’s family will receive friends from 11:30-12:30 Monday at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega.
Mr. Blankenship was a lifelong resident of Munford, Mechanic in the Munford and Talladega County area. He was gifted in building and creating, he would draw it out and make it. He is preceded in death by his wife Melba Blankenship, mother Myrtis Brown, son Randy D. Blankenship, sister Betty Buday, brothers Billie Ray Brown and John Wesley Brown.
Roy is survived by his son Ricky (Rebecca) Blankenship, grandchildren Tiffany Blankenship, Christopher Blankenship, Paige Alverson, Scott Blankenship, Jessica Blankenship and Brook Gravette, nine great-grandchildren. sister Barbara Ann McKendree, brothers I.D. Brown, Wesley Brown, Daryl Brown and Jonathan Brown, aunt Claudine Cheatwood, uncle Dale Blankenship, host of nieces and nephews and his loyal companion Peanut.
Serving as Pallbearers will be K.R. Schuffert, Scott Blankenship, Nick Heath, Barry Hyde, Michael Murner and Allen Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dale Blankenship, Larry Wright, Mack Bowman, Jack Hyde, Christopher Blankenship and Brian Sargent.
Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct services.
