Turk Phillips, 85 of Talladega, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 at St Vincent’s St. Clair Hospital. His funeral service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
Turk was a resident to Clay and Talladega Counties. He was a former owner/operator of The Old Mill Restaurant, several convenience stores and car lots. He was an avid outdoorsman, race fan, race car driver and race car owner.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Barbara Warren Phillips, daughters, Christy Phillips Cook, Angie Phillips Baggett; sons, George Phillips, Eric Phillips; sister, Sherry Phillips Atkisson; brother, Jerry Phillips and several grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ted Lackey, Lee Bean, Ross Martin, Wren Turner, Richard Brown, Jimbo Brown, and Randy Whited. Johnny Mack Brown will be an honorary pallbearer.
Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega is directing services.
