Obituary of R.A. Golden

R.A. “Bud” Golden, 89 of Pell City passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021. Mr. Golden is preceded in death by his parents Robert Alfonzo and Irene Brazier Golden, and his wife Robbie Sue Golden. Uncle Bud left peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Golden graduated from Pell City High School in 1959. Upon graduation, he worked alongside his father in a sawmill. He unloaded logs from trucks and piled logs onto the sawmill deck by hand. He enjoyed hunting small game including fox and racoons. Mr. Golden was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a sailor on the U.S.S. Rendova during the Korean War. He retired with many years of service with Stockham Valve in Birmingham. He enjoyed traveling to Columbia, Tennessee for Mule Day every year. He loved to work in his garden, care for his chickens, and sit on his front porch and watch the hummingbirds. The family is grateful for Encompass Health Hospice. He will be laid alongside his wife Sue to rest at Fowler Springs Cemetery in Blountsville, Alabama.
