Talladega: Walter Eugene Farmer, 93 passed away February 21, 2021. Graveside services will be held Thursday February 25,2021 at 11:00am Oak Hill Cemetery in Talladega with Military Honors, Jack Washington will officiate the service. His family will receive friends from 10:00am – 10:30 at funeral home on Thursday.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Jo Sams Farmer, parents Dock C. and Allie Miller Farmer, sister Carolyn Farmer Bowers, sister-in-law Ann Davis, niece Shirley Cook. He is survived by friends Patricia Allred and Connie Washington, host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
He graduated from Talladega High School, was a veteran of WW11 and the Korean war, he received the Army Occupation Medal and the WW11 Victory Medal, Member West side Baptist Church in Pell City, he was a Mason and retired from The Prudential Insurance of America after 28 years. He loved life, family and being around people and having fun. A special thank-you to everyone at the VA in Pell City for the care he received while he was there. Pallbearers will be Johnathan Allred, Randles Smith, Jim Bob Reed, Emmett Cook. Usrey Funeral home Talladega will direct.
