Mrs. Bettye Frances Alverson Arnold, 85, of Ragland, Alabama passed away on February 16, 2021 in Anniston. Mrs. Arnold was a member of Hardin's Chapel Bible Church. She was a wonderful mother who was dedicated to her family and loved them very much. She was a former substitute teacher for the St. Clair County School System and previously worked for the St. Clair County Tax Assessor's Office. Mrs. Arnold was a 1953 graduate of Ragland High School where she was a cheerleader for the school's first football team. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Arnold; brother, Bobby Alverson; and her parents, Charles and Marie Alverson. She is survived by her daughter, Jada Grass (John); sons, Bart Arnold (Teresa) and Joey Arnold (Lea); grandchildren, Jared Arnold (Courtney), Justin Arnold, Russ Arnold, Allie Arnold, Tanner Arnold, Sam Arnold, Jud Grass, Jules Grass and Jace Grass; and by great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Myla and Meredith Arnold. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Hardin's Chapel Bible Church with John Grass officiating. Interment will follow at Ragland Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jared Arnold, Justin Arnold, Russ Arnold, Tanner Arnold, Sam Arnold, Jud Grass, and Jace Grass. Condolences may be offered online at www.usreyfuneralhome.com.
