Talladega – Carol Delaine Suggs, 71, passed away January 28, 2021. Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Monday, February 1, 2021 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Linda Patterson officiating. There will be a visitation for extended family and friends beginning at 12:00 pm, prior to the service, also at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega. A native and lifelong resident of Talladega, she will be remembered for her excellent cooking, including her chicken dressing and her cakes. She was a member of Bethel Christian Church in Ashland and was a retiree of Palm Beach Company formerly located in Talladega (and then went on to a career in insurance). Carol was the most generous soul and always willing to help anyone. She is survived by her children, Stacey Thrasher (Brian), Kay Taylor (Kris) and Jeromy Suggs (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Tristen Taylor, Josh Taylor, Autumn Suggs, Gabe Suggs and three step-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband, Rodney Eugene Suggs and her parents, Glover and Mary “Bit” Williams. Those to serve as pallbearers will be Mickey Parks, Tommy Smith, Stan Burlison, Roger Gunter, Tristen Taylor and Josh Taylor.
