Obituary of Clifford Douglas Friese

Talladega – Clifford Douglas Friese, 74, passed away on Friday January 22, 2021. Funeral service for Mr. Friese will be on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel with Earl Sanders officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 pm prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park with military honors. Mr. Friese is survived by his wife Cynthia Faye Friese, one daughter Cynthia Christianna Friese, one son John Julius Friese, sister, Carol Schwartau (Charles), and a close friend that is like a brother Jim Colsch, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Friese was preceded in death by his parents G. Harold and Janice Friese. Mr. Friese was a native of Minneapolis Minn. he was a resident of Talladega for 15 years, 1964 graduate of Hastings High School in Hastings Minn. He enlisted in the USMC, was wounded in Vietnam and was the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He finished his military service as a Lance Corporal at Portsmouth Naval Prism in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Attended and graduated from Winona College with a degree in Psychology and while in college was a boxer in southeastern Minn. in 1972. Was with the bureau of prisons from 1973 – 1998. After retiring he was working for the Talladega County Sheriff’s Dept. as a corrections officer. Pallbearers will be Roger Goodwin, Carl Hudson, Ronnie Smith and Earl Sanders.
