Mr. W.J. Pardue, 73, of Ragland, Alabama passed away on January 23, 2021 in Birmingham.
Mr. Pardue was a retired Police Officer with 40 years of service, serving Ragland for 33 years. He was a member of Ragland First Baptist Church. He served with the 101st Airborne of the U.S Army during the Vietnam War, receiving a Purple Heart, and was a member of the Ragland VFW Post 6652. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Maxine Pardue; brother, Tommy Ray Pardue; and a son, Carey Newton.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Pardue; daughter, Jeanna Newton; son, Jason Newton (Kim); sister, Shirley King (Jimmy); 8 grandchildren; and 7 great- grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, with the Rev. Edwin Talley officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ragland First Baptist Church or to Ragland VFW Post 6652.
