Robert Cole “Bob” Lagen Jr. of Talladega died January 19, 2021. He was married to Patsy Shaddix Stanley Lagen. They shared 20 years together. Born in Auburn, New York on September 27, 1946, he was the son of Robert Cole Lagen Sr. and Dorothy Nix Lagen. Bob graduated from Auburn University in 1968 and had a long career in federal service with the FAA, serving in several locations including Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and many years in Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Lagen is survived by his wife, Patsy, sons Robert Cole Lagen lll (Lexie) and Barry W. Stanley (Denise), daughters Cindy Lagen Pillow (Eric) and Tracie Stanley Duelmer (Jim), grandchildren Robert Cole Lagen IV (Georganna), Bethany (Ryan), Nicholas, Madison, Alan, Wade, Callie and Drew, and his sister Patty Lagen Winch (Jack) of Tacoma, Washington. He will always be remembered in their hearts for his love of family, friends, and his Christian values that he taught everyone. Bob was a loyal member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. He served on the vestry, was a devoted lay reader, and for many years provided outreach on a weekly basis to the community. A private family service will be held at St. Peter’s Church with the Reverend Bob Blackwell officiating. A celebration-of-life service will be held at a later date when circumstances allow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church of Talladega.
