Obituary of Thelma Poland Johns

Funeral service for Mrs. Thelma Johns, 90, of Talladega will be Saturday August 2, 2014 at 3:00 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. John Whetstone and Rev. Andy Mims will officiate and burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 2-3 pm Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct. Mrs. Johns passed away July 31, 2014 at the Highlands Health and Rehab in Scottsboro AL. She is preceded in death by her husband Carmon Johns. She was a longtime resident of Talladega. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery. She retired from Bemis Bag Company and then Avondale Mills. She loved gardening and just getting out and about. She was a resident of Sunset Inn before moving to The Highlands Health and Rehab in Scottsboro, AL. Her survivors include her sons, Greg Johns (Debbie) and Randy Johns (Mary Ann), grandchildren, Brandon Johns (Mary Elizabeth), Michele Johns, Tinika Johns, Katina Johns, great-grandson, Hudson Johns.
