Obituary of Roberta "Bert" Daschner

Roberta "Bert" Daschner, 89, was called home by her Lord on December 31, 2020 at her Home in Talladega, AL. Graveside services will be held Sunday 12:30 January 3, 2021 at Hepzibah Baptist Church Cemetery, Justin Millikan will officiate the service. Family will receive friends from 12:00pm-12:30pm at Hepzibah Baptist Church. Mrs. Daschner was born in DuQuoin, IL. on September 11, 1931. She graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1952 and majored in English. She taught Speech, Drama, and English in Marseilles, Illinois. A few of her students made it to Broadway. She was a farm wife in Illinois for many years before she moved to Ottawa, IL, Texarkana, AR. New Orleans, LA, Jackson Gap, AL, and finally to Talladega, AL. She and Delbert Daschner married in 1954 in East Lynn, IL She taught Sunday school at Hepzibah Baptist Church until the age of 85. Mrs. Daschner was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Eugene Daschner and her son, Kenneth Del Daschner. She is survived by her other 5 children Arla Albers (Howard), Dennis Daschner (Edna), Barbara Simpson (Jeremy), Laurie Simmons (Curt), Lisa Riddley (Mark), 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Memorials can be made to Hepzibah Baptist Church 5329 Renfroe Rd. Talladega Al. 35160. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct.
