Richard & Tammy Townsley posted a condolence
Thursday, December 10, 2020
To Doug’s family. Tammy and Richard Townsley wish to express our sincere condolences for your loss. Doug and I shared different law enforcement career paths in Anniston (for me from 1967-1989) and Tammy worked just down the hall from Doug for several years and spoke often to him. We shared his enthusiasm for corvettes too. Doug was instrumental in furthering my professional career nominating my attending the FBI Academy, multiple times. Doug was great to work with over the years and fun to be around as well. A wonderful person he will be missed.

Doug's Family and Friends,
As a neighbor and friend since the 1950s, my family and I have greatly admired your mother, Barbara, dad, Paul, you, and your brother Denny.
I enjoyed watching you and your brother grow into fine young men. The many times you returned to Burlington to visit your family, I enjoyed visiting with you. It is with great pride I remember your education and accomplishments in life. Your deep love for dogs, your Murphy, my Charlie, and Harriet touched my heart.
My last memory is of Barbara's funeral service, where we grieved together.
With deepest sympathy and prayers to your family,
Barbara Powell
