Obituary of Rita Sue Blankenship Sargent

Rita Blankenship Sargent 67 of Talladega passed away peacefully Thursday August 27, 2020 at her residence in the arms of her eldest son Brian. Mrs. Sargent’s services will be Sunday September 6, 2020 11:00 am at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at Germany Cemetery on Germany Mountain. Mrs. Sargent is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 50+ years Wayne Sargent, two sons: Brian Sargent and Clayton Sargent. Three sisters: Brenda B. Chapman (Rick), Donna Bullock (Phillip), and Janice R. Blankenship (Greg), one brother: Franklin D. Blankenship Jr. (Sharon), and brother –in-law David Sargent. Three grandchildren: Ariel Elizabeth Sargent, Ava Monroe Sargent and Amber Jean Sargent. Mrs. Sargent was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega, was a 1971 graduate of Winterboro High School, a past employee of Palm Beach Co. and former sales clerk at K-Mart. Mrs. Sargent was preceded in death by her parents: Franklin D.“ Bud” and Nellie J. Blankenship and a grandson: Dillon Andrew Sargent. Pallbearers will be Levi Stephens, Josh Blankenship, Brian Sargent, Clayton Sargent, David Sargent, Chad Cochran, Brayden Cochran, and Rick Chapman.
