Obituary of Marcia Ellen Phillips

Funeral services for Marcia Ellen Phillips will be 11:00am, Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Rev. Minnie Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday, July 14 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Phillips was a native of Lamar County. She lived most of her life in Talladega. She was a graduate of Livingston University and had a master’s degree from Peabody College. She retired from Alabama School for the Blind after 32 years of teaching. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Talladega. Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband, Tom Phillips, daughter, Beth Phillips Finney, son, Mike Phillips (Dianna), two brothers, Dale Morrison and Gene Morrison, four grandchildren, Ben Phillips (Lynsdy), Amy Pierce (Brandon), Derek Finney, Alec Finney, and 6 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Derek Finney, Alec Finney, Ben Phillips, Jay Phillips, Randy Liner, and Johnny Phillips.
