Margaret Jewell Nelson, 93, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Funeral services for Mrs. Nelson will be on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am with William P. “Buddy” Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Nelson was born in Talladega County and graduated from Munford High School in the class of 1946. She lived most of her life in Oxford, AL. She was a member of Oxford First Baptist Church and taught a ladies Sunday school class for many years. She also served as WMU Director for a number of years and led a missions group as well. Mrs. Nelson was also a member of the Senior Adult Choir and the Senior Group known as the LLL Club. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Nelson Moore (Harold); one granddaughter, Cindi King; one grandson, Brandon Daniel; one step granddaughter; two step grandsons; and twelve great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cranston J. Nelson; son, Steven C. Nelson; 2 great grandson, Dayton King, Hayden King; parents, W.C. and Ethel Nelson; two sisters; and three brothers. Honorary Pallbearers will be ladies from her Sunday School Class In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org. Online condolences may be offered at www.usreyfuneralhome.com Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct services.
