Talladega – Jowel Cornelius Weldon, 88, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020. Funeral service for Mr. Weldon will be on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Stockdale Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with visitation from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and Kevin Jones officiating.
Jowel was a native of Clay County and a resident of Talladega most of his life. He was a member of Stockdale Baptist Church. He was also a business owner and ran A to Z vacuum.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia H. Weldon; daughter, Sandy (Ronnie) Foshee; sons, Stephen (Sue) Weldon, Lance (Carol) Weldon; sister, Johnnie Delois Troutman; brothers, William Edwood Weldon, Jessie Barney Weldon, Don Edwin Weldon; six grandchildren, Heath Foshee, Ashley Ingram, Susan Brewer, Tina Weldon, Matt Weldon, Johnathan Weldon; sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and Steve Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons.
