From the time I am able to remember back to, in my mind's eye, what I see clearest about Aunt Christine is her lovely, genuine, constant, welcoming smile; making myself, family and anyone who came through her door feel welcome. She was always the gracious hostess: greeting, cooking and making sure everyone got plenty of mouth-watering, delicious, mostly home grown, home cooked food. I hardly ever saw her sit down. She was always up busy meeting the needs of others. Then there was the relationship we all observed:her and Uncle Kenneth. I am sure I was not the only niece/person who dreamed of having a husband who would come in and show his love and appreciation by sweeping you off your feet in a big bear hug in front of everyone, wash up and help you with whatever you needed. Better to me than any TV show or romance movie.
She always beamed with pride and love when talking about her children, grandchildren...
To me she was as we all should strive to be: Christ-like, in her treatment of others, those she served and the way she led by example; a truly wonderful, unforgettable Aunt, lovely person and beautiful soul.
My prayer for Dwight, Buster, Susan, Neva, Wendy and all her family is that they will be surrounded by and always feel the love I saw exhibited by her.
With much love and virtual hugs, Carolyn (Ryder) Parrish

Christine and Ken were so welcoming when I was first introduced to Shelly's relatives. My boys always had a great time fishing and swimming at the lake. Sorry I can't be there as we're out of town.

Christine was always so kind and welcoming to me & my family. She opened her home, offered a meal, and made me feel like part of the family. I am grateful to have known her.
