Obituary of Sara P. Hutton

Funeral service for Sara P. Hutton, 84 of Talladega will be Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Ironaton United Methodist Church. Rev. Jeff Lyles and Rev. Mike Brasher will officiate and burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 5-7 pm at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. She will lie in state from 1-2 pm on Sunday. Mrs. Hutton passed away July 11, 2014 at Citizens BMC. She was a native of Clay County and a longtime resident of Talladega. A well dedicated member of Ironaton United Methodist Church, the church her great-grandfather help form and build. Graduated in 1948 from Millerville High School then went directly to work for Bemis Bag Company. She met Thomas, her husband, at the mill where they courted for two years, then married in May of 1950. She loved people and never met a stranger. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother and friend. She loved to cook and share her meals with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hutton, parents, H.H. and Margaret Pitts, sisters, Mary McCluskey, Betty Smelley, and Helen Gallahar She is survived by her daughters: Lucille (Lucy) Hardee and Julia Hutton, son: Leslie T. Hutton (Mary), grandchildren, Brian T. Hutton, Susie Grimes, James Hutton, Kathy Hutton, Tabitha Chambers, Thomas Hutton, Joseph Hutton, Sara Hutton, and Jessica Hardee, and 8 great-grandchildren, brother, Thomas Pitts (Juanita) special friends, David and Jeanette Howard, Ginny Elliott, Katelyn and Mason Howard, and Ann Hawthorne. Pallbearers will be Eugene Smelley, Johnny Smelley, Mike Smelley, Kendrick Gallahar, Phillip Gallahar and William Couch. Honorary pallbearers will be J.W. Gallahar.
