Dr. Ricker was an amazing man. I had the pleasure of serving him and his wife many Sundays at Red Lobster in Oxford, Alabama. He and Mrs. Ricker will certainly be missed, and it was a pleasure to know both of them.

I worked at Shocco for 2 summers. Dr. Ricker was kind enough to walk me down the aisle to the man I would have in my life 43 years.

Through all the years that I was friends with Dr. Ricker, going back to my teenage years at First Baptist Church & Shocco Springs, he was a trusted mentor & godly example to me that I deeply respected & who I remember would continually make me feel special & encouraged. Later in life, I remember he would make time for me when I would return to Talladega while on military leave, so we could catch up & fellowship. By being friends with such a God-fearing Christian husband & wife as Dr. George & Mrs. Iva Nelle Ricker, my life was greatly inspired, blessed, & enriched, in which I am deeply grateful for, & to which I give God all the glory! In Christ, SFC Jeremy M. Payne (U.S. Army) "In God We Trust"

My heart was saddened to hear of Dr. George Ricker's death last Thursday, July 2nd. He and Iva Nelle were very special to all the Lance Grissett family. He did so much for so many in his quiet manner. Thank you, George. So thankful you are now with Jesus and your sweet, lovely wife, Iva Nelle. I most likely won't, physically, be at your service this Saturday, July 11, but will be there in spirit with family and friends. I know you would say, 'Liz, I understand'. I know you would echo a special 'thanks' to Wendy Westerhouse for her love and caring heart. To God be the Glory!

My mother was Margaret Ann Jett. Mr. George Ricker was her uncle. Her father was Sammy George’s twin brother. I’m so sorry to hear of Uncle George’s passing but proud to know of all the wonderful things he accomplished and the life he led for the lord. May god bless everyone who lost such a great man.
