Talladega – William F. (Bill) Harmon, 74, passed away at his residence June 29, 2020 at 3:00 pm surrounded by his family, after two and half years battling cancer. He loved Jesus with all his heart. Private graveside services were held at Midway Memory Gardens with Rev. Charles Goodner officiating. Mr. Harmon was a member of First Brecon Baptist Church. He retired from Standard furniture and was a longtime employee of Crown Textile and Bemiston. Bill had a hobby and passion for watches and pocket knives. He is preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Annie L. Harmon; two brothers, James Harmon, Jacob Harmon; two sisters, Ella Ruth Smith, and Norma Jean Ansley. Mr. Harmon is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Pettus Harmon; his daughter, Loretta Harmon; two grandchildren, Caitlin Phillips, Connor Robinson; three great-grandchildren, Isabella Mallory Dean, Max Brantley Corbett, Adalaya Aurora Rose Corbett; two sisters, Mattie Kate Campbell, and Sarah Sue (Dixon) Bowman. Pallbearers were Bryan Robinson, Connor Robinson, Bob Blankenship, Andrew Durst, Brandon Hunt, and Tosha McBurnett. Honorary pallbearers were Wren Heath and Rick Robinson. The family would love to thank Southern Care New Beacon Hospice of Alex City and his special care givers Lorrie, Nikki, Christy, Chaplain Josh, and also his special friend that he loved and called Tish-Tosh (Tasha McBurnett).
