Obituary of Hubert Wright

Funeral services with military honors for Johnny “Hubert” Wright, 84 of Talladega will be Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Corey Burrell will officiate. Graveside service will be at 3:30 pm at Anniston Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends Sunday from 1-2 pm at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Mr. Wright passed away July 3, 2014 at Talladega Health and Rehab. Mr. Wright was a native of Clay County Alabama and a former resident of Anniston then later moving to Talladega. He was a retired U.S. Army Sergeant with 43 years of total service. He served in the Korean Conflict while on active duty. Then he remained in the Army National Guard until his retirement while working civil service at Ft. McClellan. He also taught at West Point during his early Army career. He was actively involved in veteran events and presently a member of Bemiston Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Mary Frances Wright. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Joyce Wright, children; Belette Wright Kellum (Nick), Cathy Wright McGuirk Tillery (Chris), Penny McKinney (Jamie); grandchildren, Breanna Kellum, Pilar McGuirk, Erica McGuirk, Michael Scott McGuirk, Tristan Tillery, Mason Tillery, John McKinney, Mason McKinney, and Morgan McKinney. Pallbearers will be son-in-laws and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Military.
