Background:Mrs. Stewart was a person who worked hard, enjoyed life and what life had provided her. She was born in Lavene, OK and moved to Oklahome city upon the death of her parents. She was raised by Flossie Simmons from the age of 14 until she met her husband, L.D. in 1944, who was in the army stationed in Oklahoma City. She began working at a drug store at the age of 16. After graduating High school she went to work at Tinker Air Field where she was one of the "Rosie the Riviters". She was later employed by Anniston Army Depot. After retirement, she and her husband traveled throughout the United States. They participated in building churches with a group through Campers for Christ.
Preceded in Death by:She was preceded in death by her husband, Littleton D. (L.D.) Stewart, by her parents, Mable and Albert Sloan, & by 2 sisters, Laura Rempi & Hazel Smith.
Survivors:Daughter: Patsy Kay (Littleton) Yarbrough, Son: John Michael "Mike" (Faye) Stewart, Sister: Betty Joy Herd, TX, 3 Grandchildren: Tara (Mark) Hardee, Todd (Keely) Stewart, Toni (Dillon) Donaldson, 2 Great Grandchildren: Emily Diane Stewart, Margret Sloan Hardee
Service:Lister Memorial Baptist Church Friday, January 7, 2011 1:00 P.M.
Clergy:Bro. Brad Mosley
Cemetery:St. Clair Memorial Gardens
Visitation:The family wil receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City.
