Obituary of Mary Ann Edwards

Talladega – Mary Ann Edwards, 79, passed away peacefully with family March 11, 2020. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Roger Hayes officiating. Her family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. She was a graduate of Winterboro High School and worked at Bemiston and Avondale Mills. In her later years she was a caregiver for adults with disabilities until she retired. She was also a member of Horn’s Valley Baptist Church in Chandler Springs. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved talking about her school buddies, going to class reunions and her brothers and sisters. Preceding her in death was her husband of 54 years, Gus Edwards; mother, Julia Studdard Hughston; father, Jim Hughston; brothers, Abe, Tommy Ray, Billie Joe, Frank, James and Kenneth; sisters, Margaret Williams, Glenda Mowery, Linda Riddley and great grandson, Presley Walker. Mary was the last of 10 siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Moore; son, Timmy Edwards (Cindy); grandchildren, Kristyn Harvel (Stephen), Abbie Salmon (Matthew), Auburn Brewer (Terry); great-grandchildren, Isabella and Gunnar Harvel, Mara Jade and Raven Salmon, Noah Phillips, Anakin and Harley Brewer; nieces and nephews and her dog, Mollie. Her family would like to thank Affinity Hospice and Dr. Mark Ponder. Pallbearers will be Franklin Otwell, Stephen Harvel, Arlin Otwell, Terry Walker, Jeff Hughston, Vance Mowery and David Riddley.
