Words are so inadequate to describe the loss. Thelma was always a smile with a woman attached. She always had words of encouragement and praise. She will be missed in her church and in the neighborhood as well as in our hearts. She has gone to a just and earned reward. I count myself fortunate to have had the privilege to have know and studied under her. She is singing in a much larger choir now. Praise God, Harley davidson

Thelma might not have been family through blood but she was definitely family in our hearts. She was a loving, genuine person that will be greatly missed by us all.

We have all lost a precious Sister in Christ Jesus. Such an inspiration and encouragement. We have been greatly blessed by knowing her, Bill and David. I feel a great joy knowing that she is now with our Lord and look forward to that "glad reunion day". Thelma will forever be in our hearts.

Grandma was always there when needed. She was always a phone call away if you needed to talk or ask a question. She had such a kind heart for everyone. I love you Grandma and you will be greatly missed.

Sadly, another part of our family is gone. Cecil and I just buried Mama in early February.
Thelma will be missed.
Our hearts go out in love and sympathy to Bill and the family.
Thelma will never be forgotten !!!!

Regrettably I have only seen Thelma and Bill on two occasions, both at the Colonel Inzer Museum. As everyone in St. Clair County probably already knows, Thelma was the perfect model of a Southern lady. The Watkins rolled out the red carpet for my wife Martha and I, and later for an SCV compatriot of mine and myself. We were treated like royalty and very much enjoyed Thelma and Commander Bill's historical tales. We all fell in love with both of them, so much so that we made both of them associate members of our Camp. Rest in peace Thelma, our lives were so much enriched by meeting you.
Sincerely,
Jim Perkins, Commander
