Obituary of Dorothy Mae Morris

TALLADEGA-Graveside service for Dorothy Mae Forrest Morris, 78, of Talladega, will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Pine Hill Memorial Park in Talladega, Alabama with Father Ben Turnage, officiating. Comfort Care Hospice Chaplain Gregory Tankersley will provide the music. Mrs. Morris passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at her Bemiston home. She was retired from Talladega Foundry and co-owner of Deke’s Grocery, Bait, and Tackle for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace G. Morris; her father, Woodrow Forrest; mother, Gertrude (Sis) Forrest; son, Trees Jackson Morris; sister, Ophelia Sizemore; sister, Sara Cobb and granddaughter, Brooke Parker. She is survived by her son, Deke E. Morris of Talladega; daughters, Susie Taylor and husband Larry Taylor of Talladega; Dottye Armstrong and husband Jim Armstrong of Talladega; grandchildren, Candice Morris, Dusty Arnold, Jodi Arnold, Marlye Armstrong, Alex Armstrong, Olivia Armstrong, and Lola Armstrong; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Alex Armstrong, Jim Armstrong, Dusty Arnold, Curt Canada, Ken Allen, Jr., Tripp Allen, Ken Cobb and Larry Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers are Craig Morris and David Hancock. Visitation will be at 11:30- 12:30 a.m. at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega.
