Obituary of Glenda Waldrup

Funeral service for Ms. Glenda “Genner” Waldrup, 66, of Talladega will be Wednesday, June 4, 1:00pm at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cliff Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Tuesday, June 3, from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Ms. Waldrup passed away June 2, 2014 at Sylacauga Health and Rehab. She was born in Clay County on December 13, 1947, but resided most of her life in Talladega. She is preceded in death by her father, David Williams, brothers, Charles Williams and Dale Williams, niece April Haney, nephew Daniel Williams, and sister-in-law, Patricia Williams. She is survived by her son, Scott Castleberry, mother, Johnnie Williams, brother, Cecil Williams, sisters, Darlene Haney (Danny), Joni Williams (Jeff Taylor), nephews, Michael Williams, Shaun Williams, Clayton Williams, Clint Williams, Nick Haney (Cortney), AJ Fain III, nieces, Shannon Williams Blankenship, Lindsey Haney Wood (Brian), and several great nieces and nephews. Glenda was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She spent most of her life as a caregiver. After caring for many other families, she became her mother’s caregiver up until she was hospitalized. In her free time, Glenda enjoyed cooking for her family, NASCAR, Auburn Football, and spending time with her best friend and little buddy, Christian Williams. She always made sure to celebrate every holiday and birthday with family by cooking a large meal. Her favorite greeting was “War Eagle.” Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will Danny Haney and Jeff Taylor. Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Sylacauga Health and Rehab and the New Beacon Hospice of Sylacauga for their love and support.
