Obituary of Jerry "Byrd" Andrew Layton

Mr. Jerry "Byrd" Andrew Layton, 75, of Ragland, Alabama passed away on January 18, 2019 in Pell City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Inez Layton; grandson, Hunter James Alverson; sister, Mabel Layton Wallace; and a nephew, David Scott Wallace.

He is survived by his daughter, Jo Anne (Jeff) Alverson; son, James "Bunky" (Vicki) Layton; granddaughter, Chelsey Alverson; step-grandchildren, Lonnie "BoBo" (Marybeth) Gardner, Chris (Carrie) Gardner, Matt (Tesla) Gardner; nephews, Roland (Julie) Wallace and Keith Wallace; special cousin that was like a sister to him, Madlyn Pollard; aunt, tha Jo Hale; and several cousins and numerous great-nieces and and great-nephews. 

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, with Rev. Doug Ford and Rev. Mike Allums officiating.  Interment will follow at Box Cemetery in Ragland.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 21, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
