Obituary of Christine Nixon

Talladega – Christine Nixon, 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019. Funeral service for Mrs. Nixon will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Rev.  David Gaither will officiate the service.

Mrs. Nixon was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School class. Mrs. Nixon is survived by her two daughters, Tina Runyan (Donald) and Carolyn Miller; son, John Nixon; six grandchildren, Paul Jernigan, Tommy Jernigan, Andrew Arnold, Abigail Arnold, David Nixon (Laura), and Sharon Elaine Wilkerson; seven great-grandchildren; Hayden Arnold, Emily Harper, Lane Wilkerson, Dillon Wilkerson, Josh Nixon, Austin Nixon, and Victoria Nixon. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Nixon; parents, Andrew Curtis Smith and Nellie Carmen Smith; and several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ralph Haywood, Randy Martin, Andrew Arnold, Donnie Runyan, Tommy Jernigan, and Paul Jernigan. Honorary pallbearer will be Hayden Arnold.
