Obituary of Joel Anthony Marler

TALLADEGA

Joel Anthony Marler, 66, of Talladega passed away at his residence Sunday, November 4, 2018. His funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega. Neal Hodo and Don Barnett will officiate and burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Joel lived most of his life in Talladega. He was a graduate of Faulkner University. He was a member of The Lion’s Club and Business Enterprise Program for the Blind. He was an avid golfer, musician, Braves fan, and Alabama football fan.

He is survived by his wife, Shirlynjie Marler; daughter, Kristen Owens; grandson, Todd Owens; and brother, Robert Marler.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Laveral Marler and brother Phillip Marler.
