Obituary of William Wendell Herrington
Talladega - William Wendell Herrington passed away on October 23, 2018 at the age of 72. Funeral service for Mr. Herrington will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Interment will be at Pine Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Rev. Glen Horn will officiate the service.
Mr. Herrington was born in Pinson, AL. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 – 1969. He served for two years in the Vietnam War. He was a resident of Pinson, AL for many years and has been living in Talladega since 2004. He graduated from Tarrant High School in 1964. Mr. Herrington was a member of Bemiston United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Arch Herrington and Ruby Camila Bolton; and sister, Francis Herrington. Mr. Herrington is survived by his son, Wayne (Ellen) Herrington; daughters, Becky (Randy) Griffin and Cathy (Todd) Allison; granddaughters, Kelsey (Chace) Lother, Kayla (Josh) Griffin, Katelyn (Devin) Franklin, Hannah Griffin, Maggie H. Allison, Alaina Herrington; grandsons, Matthew Allison, Sammy Herrington; great-granddaughter, Ayla Franklin; special friends, Ruby Ward, Travis Ford, Kala and Randy Rutter, Nell and Jerry Moss.
Pallbearers will be Tom Russell, Jeff Rutter, Kevin McCarthy, Mike Smith, Terry Wideman, Buddy Wideman, Rodney Gaither, and Jeff Hendon. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of CMI Manufacturing and members of Fayne Creek Hunting Club. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Hall of Heroes and to the Wounded Warriors Project. Donations to the Hall of Heroes may be mailed to 112 Court Square East Talladega, AL 35160.
