Obituary of Irene Wilder Smith

Mrs. Irene Wilder Smith, 81, of Pell City, Alabama passed away on July 10, 2018 in Pell City.　

Mrs. Smith was a retired Registered Nurse with the American Red Cross with over 20 years of service. She was a former truck driver, was Director of Nursing for the Alabama Department of Corrections, and worked as a Wellness Nurse with the St. Clair County Health Department. Mrs. Smith was a volunteer at Lakeside Hospice and Meals on Wheels. She lived a very adventurous life, enjoying hot air ballooning, white water rafting, parasailing and sky diving.

She is survived by her daughters, Lori Chaney (Ken) and Ramona Lee (Johnny); sisters, Barbra Grey and Sara Losh; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday July 13, 2018 at St. Clair Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dennis Grey and the Rev. Larry Wimberly officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lakeside Hospice, 4010 Masters Road, Pell City, Alabama 35128.
